Yasil Puig released by KBO League Keevum Heroes

Former MLB Standout Yasiel Puig was released by KBO League Keevum Heroes in South Korea and said he would return to the United States in a social media post.

The 34-year-old, who reached the spot with Los Angeles Dojers in June 2013, played in 40 games with .285 on-base percentage, according to KBO Insider Daniel Kim,, batting in 40 matches this season.

In a post to X, Puig said he was returning to Los Angeles to get “necessary treatment” for a shoulder injury.

Puig said in the post, “I want to thank my heroes team for fully supporting this transition because I aim to achieve my goal in my baseball career.” “Although I will not return to Kewum this year, my heart is with my peers and fans of my Kewum team, I grew up to love and praise you all. Thank you for the opportunity.”

Puig also played for Heroes in 2022, batting. 277 with 21 domestic runs in 126 matches in that season.

In 2014, one All-Star, Puig spent six of its seven MLB of sessions with doseers, batting. 277 with .823 OPS with .823 OPS with 132 domestic runs in 861 total games and 415 with RBI. He also played for Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians in 2019.

The Post-MLB career of Puig also included two different stents with L. Agyila de Verakruz in the Mexican League.
