French Open to pay tribute to 14 -time champion Rafael Nadal

The early day of playing in the French Open Paris’s Rolland Garos will honor 14 -time champion Rafael Nadal at a ceremony next month.
Nadal, coming out of injuries, lost in the first round to Alexander Zverev at the French Open in his last tournament appearance. The spaniad finally retired after playing the Davis Cup.
“Rafa made history in Rafa Garos, and his 14 titles will probably be uneven,” the tournament director Emelie Mauresmo told reporters on Thursday. βThe ceremony in honor of RAFA will take place on 25 May at the end of the day session on the court Philip Cheater.

“The idea is a vision for the future and also to convince those who thrilled us in the past.”
38 -year -old Nadal did not declare his retirement at the time of his most recent French Open, which has already built a statue of him in the Loland Garos, so such a ceremony was seen prematurely, Mouso said.
“We wanted to pay homage last year, to be transparent, but he refused at that time,” he said. “He was not sure that this was his last Rolland Garos. Now that he has retired, he is happy to get it.”
Nadal won 22 Grand Slam singles titles. His record in Rolland Garos was 112β4.
The Clay-court tournament will also honor a pair of French contestants-20000 women champions Mary Pierce and Richard Gasket, a Nadal contemporary that is retiring at the end of the upcoming French Open. Pierce won both solo and doubles titles that year.
