Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) The defeat at the hands of Delhi Capital (DC) in IPL 2025 has severely criticized Captain Rishabh Pant, mainly due to a strategic explosion by the team. Pants decided to take themselves to number seven with the choice of Abdul Samad, Ayush Badoni and David Miller. Gabri managed only 159/6 as LSG, in which Pant Mukesh was bowling in the final over of the innings.
Former India selector Saba Karim reached the crease with only two balls in the innings as he reached the pants in the pants.
“This is beyond my comprehension. You are the captain. You are assigned this responsibility, and the reason for this is that you can add value to the team. And it was your time,” Saba said on Gehotstar.
He said, “Rishabh Pant was ready. But who had taken a call to not be sent to him? Was it the pant itself? Was this team management? The coach was involved? Visual shows that the pants were upset over not playing before,” he said.
“But, you are the captain. Finally, the team is playing under you. You have to lead for example. There is no point in batting for 2 balls. You needed when Nicolas Gorn was rejected and LSG was under pressure. The only positive Ayush was coming near Badoni end and was playing his shots,” said Saba.
After the match, the pants outlined the reason behind putting themselves back in the batting order.
