As the New World Test Championship cycle starts with the India vs England Test series, Rohit Sharma is called Quits, BCCI will appoint a new Test captain.

The new era of India cricket is going to start from 24 May. At a media conference around 12 noon, India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agkar will announce a new Test captain with the India Squad for the England Test series. After Rohit Sharma retired from tests, Shubman Gill is a favorite for leading India in the New World Test Championship cycle. However, Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant are also in the fray.

Rohit Sharma succeeded Virat Kohli as India’s Test captain in 2022. India’s leading in 24 matches, after winning 12, Rohit called it a time for his Test career. Virat Kohli also followed the suit, leaving India’s Test team in young hands. The India vs England test chain will mark the onset of a new test cycle. Thus, a new test captain will take charge on 24 May, Sports tech report,

Who will be the Test Captain of India?

While experts have been divided on who should be the new Test captain of India, Shubman Gill gets the vote of faith for his age and ability to lead. As Jasprit Bumrah led Rohit’s absence in the border-Gavaskar Trophy, many believe that he should be the new leader. However, their continuous charge management and frequent long -term injuries can prevent them from pushing the ladder.

“My captain will be Jasprit Bumrah because he has already proved himself as a leader. As far as my vice-captain is concerned, I would like Shubman Gill to gain some experience as the deputy of Gill Bumrah. If you have a problem with Bumrah’s fitness, then my choice is Rahul Rahul,” Former chief selector MSK Prasad told PTI.

Who will be the new vice-captain?

The BCCI did not have a clear favorite for Vice-Captaincy as Virat Kohli left the post as captain. Ajinkya Rahane was his deputy, while Rohit worked as one after Rohit was dropped from the shore. However, Rohit never had a permanent deputy. Jasprit Bumrah acted as one, while Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant also played the role. In the Sydney Test, Virat Kohli hurt Bumrah after Rohit got out of the match.

In the new setup, the selectors are likely to designate a vice-captain. If Jasprit Bumrah, by a miracle, becomes India’s full -time Test captain, Shubman Gill will be his deputy. This will help Bumrah as the next Test captain for the groom. Rishabh Pant is also one of the regular testing that can get a job.

If Gill becomes captain, Pant is likely to be deputy. Both Gill and Pants have led India in T20. KL Rahul is also an option, but at the age of 33, he cannot be considered for the role, especially when he is not a regular face in the Test setup.

The India vs England Test series starts from June 20, in which Team India prepared a four -day practice match against India from 13 June. The first batch of the players will leave on June 6, followed by other people who will play in the IPL 2025 finals.
