WTA Roundup: Last Set in Germany, Elina Switolina wins in France

World No. 1, Aryana Sabalenka, will try to win her first Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in her fourth attempt at Stutgart, Germany.

She was winning Italy’s number 5 Seed Jasmine Paolini in an hour, 35 minutes in an hour, 35 minutes in the final for the fourth time in five years on Sunday.

This was the 18th career title for Svitolina – seventh on Clay – and before May 2023. He only needed two hours to defeat Danilvic of Serbia, but got a chance to win at the point of his fourth match to save two set points in the tiebreaker.

Switolina has played 22 career in the WTA final, losing only four times. He did not lose a set throughout the week.
