“Is this so easy?”

Former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly on Saturday expressed optimism about the Eden Gardens, keeping his date with the 2025 IPL final and said that the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) shared “excellent relations” with the all-Powerful Apex Body of the game. BCCI has officially not officially confirmed places for the IPL playoffs, even though the tournament of the India-Pakistan struggle has been announced again after the tournament stopped on 8 May. “No, no, we are trying – talking to the BCCI,” Ganguly said that when asked about the possibility of Eden Gardens hosting the finals as per the original program.

During the final of All India Invitation Inter-School Regata, Ganguly said, “Eto Sohoze Jai Jai.

A part of the people staged a protest outside the prestigious site on Friday, demanding that the IPL final be staged in Kolkata.

The former India captain said, “The protest does not help much. The BCCI has a very good relationship with the Cricket Association of Bengal.”

Responding to the delay in finalizing the playoff places, Ganguly said: “Kolkata has finished its league matches, so Eden is not in the first list.” The Eden Garden was awarded the final for the Kolkata Knight Riders’ title performance in the 2024 season.

The site hosted the initial match of the 2025 edition.

The tournament schedule was pushed back for a week, which is originally scheduled for June 3 instead of being originally employed on 25 May.

According to the original plan, the Eden Gardens were hosting the final on May 23 and the final on May 2 on 2 and 25 May.

However, the BCCI is fed up about the new site for the final, giving fuel to further speculation.

The reason behind the proposed innings is the weather forecast, as the onset of the South -West monsoon reaches the area around that time.

The cab has allegedly presented IMD data to the BCCI, stating that the conditions in Kolkata will be favorable for the final hosting on 3 June.

However, BCCI is understood that it is prematurely to decide on long -term forecasts and more accurate weather predictions will be possible only around 25 May.

Ganguly ‘shocked’ by Kohli Test Retirement

Test cricket in India recently faced twin failures with skipper Rohit Sharma and was batting with Mastro Virat Kohli with the traditional format of the game.

Reacting to Vikas, the former India captain surprised Kohli’s decision and paid tribute to both the players for his brilliant career.

Ganguly said, “This is his own decision. Can anyone leave the game without his wish? But it has been a great career, and he goes for Rohit Sharma. Kohli’s retirement has surprised me,” said Ganguly.

Rohit was the first to call his red-ball career on time, and a few days later, Kohli followed the suit, making a large-scale zero in the team.

The exit comes at a significant turn, demanding a five -match testing series in England from next month.

Now the meditation turns on the selection of India’s next Test captain, in which it is going on with a debate whether Shubman Gill or Jasprit Bumrah should take over the reins.

“It is a decision that the selectors should be careful,” Ganguly said.

Ganguly said, “There are many professionals and opposition. They have to think about long periods. Whatever selectors think and work, they will decide. Bumrah’s injury is also – whatever they decide …” Ganguli said.
