Rangers rent former all-star Brett Boon as coaches

Brett Boon is returning to the American League West, this time as a new hitting coach for Texas Rangers, the team announced on Monday.
Boon, who played about half of his years with Seattle Meriners, will join the Rangers Bench for the Tuesday’s series opener at Boston Red Sox.
In his first term as a major league coaching staff member, the 56-year-old Basman will see some very important crimes for a Texas team, which holds the league’s sixth worst batting average (.228), third-to-the-base percentage (.285) and second-all-run (113). A season removed from the franchise’s only world series title, The Rangers dropped four of their last five, lost by a joint score of 25–3 in four defeats.
Boone batted. 266 in his career, while 252 scored domestic runs, finishing 10th in MLB history. He will re -connect with Texas manager Bruce Bocch, whom Boon played in 2000 with San Diego Padress during his lonely season.
Three-time all-star, Bune also won four Gold Glove Awards and two Silver Sluggagar Awards and moved to 1,021 runs before retiring in 2006.
His brother, Aaron, has managed New York Yankis for the last eight seasons, while his father, Bob managed Kansas City Royals and Cincinnati Reds for a joint six years.
