Dynamo Re-Sign Veteran de Eric Sweatchenco

Houston Dynamo re -signed defender Eric Swiyatchanko with a club option for 2027 on Tuesday through 2026.

The 33 -year -old Sviatchenko is in his third season with Houston. He has appeared in 78 matches (71 beginnings) in all competitions.

“Eric has been a staunch at the center of our rescue since arriving at Houston and is an important contribution to our success in the last two sessions,” said Pat Onstad, the President of the Pat Onstad, Football. “We are happy that Eric is committed to Houston, and we look forward to his continuous contribution because we push to a third serial playoff appearance this season.”

Since arriving in March 2023, the native of Denmark has contributed to 20 clean sheets, with three goals this season and four assistance in the MLS competition.

“This is such a big moment in my journey. Houston has been home to me and my family, and I really believe what we are building in the club,” said Swiatchanko. “I want to thank fans for their energy, passion and unwavering support – they are the hearts of this club.”

Prior to MLS, Sviatchenko played in 325 matches and won five titles with FC Midtjylland in Denmark and played with six titles at Celtic FC, Scotland in 63 matches.
