As Los Angeles Dozers continued to slow down the return of Shohi Ohtani after the second elbow surgery, manager Dave Roberts on Sunday told the team’s leading radio station AM-570 that Star Two-way player would not pitch before the all-star break.

“I think we are very arranged about it,” Roberts on Monday told The Radio Station about Ohtani’s recovery program with its 2023 Tommy John Revision Surgery. “I can safely say that he is probably not going to the pitch for us until the break.”

30 -year -old Ohtani performed live batting practice for the first time before Saturday’s road game against New York Mets. He threw 23 pitches, including his slider, which he has started throwing only in bullpen sessions in the previous week.

There are currently three beginnings in the injured list with shoulder issues in the team: left -handed black snell and right -hand Tyler Glassno and Roki Sasaki. A total of 14 pitches on the 40-man roster of the doseers are at IL.

But the club will not deliver Ohtani to rotation to fill a pressure requirement.

Roberts said, “Its main part (of Ohtani) is a value for us as a hitter.” “He is very valuable and does not just understand to take some kind of negative side to try to do something and speed up something.”

Last season without an innings, or without playing in the field, Ohtani still won the National League MVP with 54 domestic runs and 59 stolen in its first season in Los Angeles. He was batting against Cleveland Guardian entering Monday’s road game. 295 1.025 to tie for Major League lead with opes and 18 home runs.

In 86 careers, Major League begins as a pitcher, from 2018-23 with Los Angeles Angels, Ohtani has gone 38–19 with 3.01 ERA. His hitting and pitching exploits helped him win the American League MVP Award in 2021 and 2023.

During the offshine, Ohani’s return to the mound for this month was estimated. The chairman of the baseball operation Andrew Freedman recently stated that the recovery program was slowed down with the target of being available through October.

“We knew that we were just going to be a little more alert and make sure it is really a good place, before we really start increasing the intensity on the pitching side,” Freedman said last week. “… In the beginning of the season, hopefully it (was going to be) a very deep October run. And so we slowed it down.”
