Sanjeev Goenka breaks silence when LSG exits IPL 2025, Rishabh posts a complicated picture with pants

Sanjeev Goenka, owner of Lucknow Super Veterans, had high hopes from his franchise, especially when he managed to bring a marquee player like Rishabh Pants into the team. LSG had a mega auction to build a headline last year, which saw him a rope in the wicket-keeper batsman for a record-brakeing fee of INR 27 crore. Despite the inclusion of top players like Nicholas Gorn, Mitchell Marsh, Eden Markram, Rishabh Pant, David Miller, etc., the franchise could not end in the last four.
The LSG had a glimpse of the hope of reaching the knockout, but the defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Monday dropped him out of the controversy. The franchise’s future plans, especially in relation to captain Rishabh Pant, floods social media, owner Sanjeev Goenka excluded his hearts, highlighting his learning from the campaign.
“This is a challenging second half of the season, but there is a lot to take in the heart. The moments of soul, effort, and excellence give us a lot to build. There are two games. Let’s play proudly and finish strongly. #LSGVSSSRH,” Goenka wrote X (East Twitter).

The post also came with a picture in which Goenka was shown standing while resting his hands on the shoulders of the pants. Some other players of the team can be seen sitting around the pants in the picture.
After the defeat against Sunrisers, Pants exposed the team’s injury-bowling bowling unit as the biggest reason behind the poor show this season.
“We knew we had gaps to fill due to injuries. As a team we decided not to talk about it. But it became to shut down the gap. The way we had planned the auction, if we had the same bowling, the story would have been different.
