In IPL 2025, Andre Russell’s poor run is badly damaged to KKR and now his failure to chase is now raising serious questions.
The IPL 2025 changed dramatically as Kolkata Knight Riders stumbled in an easy chase of 112 runs after losing all their wickets for just 95 runs against Punjab Kings in Mulanpur last night. This is a wake-up call for Kolkata Knight Riders to make some changes and decide on ways to improve the team. Kolkata is one of the biggest reasons for not chasing big goals. Andre Russell did not move. Russell extended the team for years, finishing the match for them. The Caribbean all -rounder has been excellent over the years, but in this season, he has been terrible, and this high time KKR realizes that Andre Russell’s time may end.
During the match against Punjab, he stood as the last wicket, broke a six, and scored four runs against Yuzvendra Chahal, but eventually failed to join the ball against Marco Jansen and lost his wicket, which originally gave the match gift to Punjab Kings.
Andre Russell’s terrible performance in IPL 2025

A better bowler but not regular

Is Russell’s time in IPL?
Russell has been very good, but it seems that his time in IPL may end. He should probably make way for other players, as he has been disappointing with the bat and is not bowling continuously. It needs to be largely followed and distributed; Otherwise, KKR needs to decide whether he wants Russell as a finisher in his team, as he is not able to finish the match and is now pressurizing other players. His role as a finisher is being questioned.
