Athletic reported on Thursday that New York Rangers Star Artmi Panreen and Madison Square Garden Sports paid financial settlements to a former team employee last year.

Citing sources in NHL and team, the report said that there was an alleged attack during a road trip in December 2023. The accused left the Rangers after reaching the settlements in August 2024 which included a non-recruitment agreement and there was no entry of wrongdoing by Panarin, 33.

The woman reportedly reached two unknown settlements, one with Panarin and the other with MSG Sports, the company who owns the hockey team.

According to the report, the female Rangers were a regular member of the traveling party. Panreen allegedly took her phone in the gathering after a game and said that she can only return to her hotel room and recover it. When she went to her room, sources said that Panreen dropped her down on the bed, before she was able to push her, recover her phone and get out of the room.

Neither Panarin nor his agent responded to requests from athletic to comment.

“The case has been resolved,” read a statement by a MSG Sports spokesman.

The accused, who was not identified as an alleged victim of sexual harassment, also said, “The case has been resolved.”

NHL sent an email to the athletic and admitted the situation: “The club upheld an external legal firm to conduct an independent investigation, which was fully conveyed to the league. We consider the case to be closed.”

The League and Rangers refused to disclose whether Panreen had faced any discipline.
