Nut Skiver-Bunt appointed England Women’s Cricket Captain in all formats

Nut Skiver-Bunt has been nominated as the new captain of the England women’s team. She succeeds Heather Knight, who left her role after a 2025 female Ashes series of England after a tenure of nearly nine years. She will lead in all three forms working with the recently appointed head coach Charlotte Edwards. “I really proud to play the role of the captain of the England women’s team and it has been asked by Charlotte, I have always seen someone. Ever since I started my England in 2013, I want to help the team in every way.
The 32-year-old has been an integral part of England’s set-up since his debut in 2013 and is widely considered one of the world’s most talented cricketers.
Skyver-Bunt has a notable collection of awards, including winning the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year for 2022 and 2023. She was also named the PCA female player in 2017 and 2022 and was part of the ICC Women’s ODI and T20 teams in 2023.
Currently ICC is ranked number three in the world batting rankings in ODI cricket, Skyver-Bunt has spent the last three years as the vice-captain.
In 2021, Skyvar-Bunt captained his country for the first time in international cricket for the third T20I match against New Zealand and also took charge for the Commonwealth Games in 2022.
“We have a truly talented group, and we have a group that is united. It is a team that I believe and a team that can have a lot of success together. It is extremely exciting to work with Charlotte. It is extremely exciting that the Indians of Mumbai were happy to work with him in the last three years. The women’s team has been motivated to love cricket and passion.”
The skiver-bunt was part of the English team which won the 2017 World Cup and played 259 times for England in the formats till date.
It is an average of 46.47 in Tests, 45.91 in ODI and 28.45 in T20Is, while also takes 181 international wickets.
Recently, Skyver-Bunt ended the 2025 women’s premiere league with 523 runs in India, becoming the first player to gather more than 500 runs in the same season. She became the first to score 1,000 runs in WPL.

“Everyone knows what a magnificent cricketer nut is, but his qualities move much ahead of his skills on the pitch. He is thoughtful, flexible and inspired to do the best for himself and all of him. The nut is very well honored in the group and I know she will make an thrilling and fruitful partnership with Charlett.”
The women of England start their 2025 home summer campaign on May 21 with a home series against the West Indies, with three metro banks One-Day International and three Vitality T20s.
They then host India where they will play five Vitality T20 Eye and Three Metro Bank One Day International.
