Mumbai: In a major setback for Rajasthan Royals, Captain Sanju Samson will also remember his next IPL 2025 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Bengaluru on 24 April.

The right -handed batsman retired 31 off 31 balls against Delhi Capital after a side issue. Samson missed the last match of RR against Rishabh Pant’s Lucknow super legend. Prior to that match, Royals’ head coach Rahul Dravid had revealed that his side was waiting for the scan results, and Samson’s participation would be fixed later.

In a statement on Samson’s fitness status, RR said, “Captain of Rajasthan Royals Sanju Samson is currently undergoing recovery and will remain on the team’s home base with selected RR medical staff. As part of his ongoing rehabilitation process, he will not visit Bangalore for the upcoming match against RCB. The team management is closely monitoring its progress and will take a game-by-game approach about their return in action. ,

Sanju faced his injury during RR’s match against Delhi Capital. He was seen in the pain that appeared when he tried a cut shot from Vipraj Nigam’s bowling. Then the physio checked the left around his rib. Samson soon retired and did not come out to bat again.

“Sanju experienced a little pain in the stomach area,” head coach Rahul Dravid said on Friday. “So we have gone for a scan.
