Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson’s participation is in doubt against Lucknow Super Veterans on Saturday as the franchise waited for the results of the injury in his favor. Samson on Wednesday hurt after scoring 31 balls off 19 balls due to the stress of suspected side during RR’s recent match against Delhi Capital. The RR skipper appeared in inconvenience after attempting the cut shot from Vipraj Nigam, inspiring Physio to examine the left side of its ribbacks. Although he faced the next delivery, Samson soon moved out of the field. The match ended in a tie, RR eventually lost in the super over. “Sanju experienced a little pain in the stomach area. So we have gone for a scan. He has done some scans today, so we are waiting for the results of those scans. And then once we get a little more clarity around the scan and (severity of injury), we will move forward and we will see what happens,” Head-cook Rahul Drew said at a press-minded press conference on Friday.

Samson started the IPL 2025, recovering from a thumb injury and played as only one batsman in the first three matches. During that period, Ryan Parag stepped as captain and is expected to do so again if necessary.

He won the Punjab Kings (PBK) before losing his next three matches. As a result, they are currently in the eighth position on the points table.

Dravid admitted that RR needs to improve his execution with the ball towards the end of the innings. “We suffered a little with our death bowling. We won 77 in the last five, in the last five.
