Delhi Capital (DC) all -rounder Vipraj Nigam said that the team will use KL Rahul’s insight during its IPL 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Tuesday. Rahul was the captain of LSG for three sessions, but was not maintained by LSG last year before the IPL 2025 mega auction. Last year, after a huge defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), both were seen chatting with LSG owner Sanjeev Goenka.
Rahul has revived himself in DC, playing with more freedom by his own entry, and helps youngsters such as Viraj with his valuable input.
“Especially not for this match, but I get advice from seniors in every game about how to perform better. Yes, yes, he helps, especially since he is played with some players who were part of Lucknow last year and are still with them. So in our team’s meetings, we definitely discuss that it really helps when it really keeps information about any opposing bowlers.”
During the pre-match press conference, 20-year-old, reflecting his role, said, “I consider myself an all-rounder. I have to contribute with the ball and whenever needed, also with the bat.”
Talking about playing in front of the family and house crowd, Nigam said, “Yes, there is a lot of pressure and nervousness in all sports. This is when you play in front of your family and coach.”
The young spinner appreciated the senior players for providing the right type of input and response.
“I get advice from seniors in every game. We get some help from seniors. There are some players who were in Lucknow last year and are here this year. We talk about those aspects in our team meetings and plan accordingly.”
When asked about an update on FAF du Plessis, Nigam said, “He is getting well but will be taken by the final call management.”
DC has 10 points under his belt out of 7 matches so far. He has already defeated LSG once this season.
