If they defeat Boston Red Sox on Wednesday night and New York Mets will have to commit more crime to avoid three-marks sweeps.

Mates have scored a total runs in the first two matches of the series and lost five of their last six matches. The six-game stretch in New York has eight runs.

Recently, time for New York is rare. Mets are 9 -for -61 with runners in scoring position in their last eight matches and left 60 runners on the base. New York on Tuesday was 0-for-7 with the runners in scoring conditions during a 2–0 loss of 2–0, which handed over the Mates to its first three-game losing streak of the season.

“Overall, we are going through it, there is no doubt about it,” said Carlos Mendoza, the manager of New York. “We are constantly putting people continuously, and when we get those people, we are spending a difficult time to get them. … Overall, I think we are going out aggressively.

“As far as the track record is concerned, we have found a lot of good players in this room. Realizing that at some point in the season you are going to pass through the stretch in this way. It happens. We have to continue fighting. We have to continue working. We have to continue to be positive. We have to be positive. We have to start the page. It is not right.

Boston’s Bulpen recorded 20 outs in Tuesday’s victory, after starting Pitcher Walker Buhler and manager Alex Kora was thrown out with one in the third innings, when Buhler questioned a call by plate umpire Mike Estabroke. Red Sox used seven pitches during the victory.

“He did a wonderful job,” Kora said. “Obviously we were in a difficult place, but they found ways. He was played well, and (Catcher Carlos Narwaz) did an excellent job.”

Right-arm tayler megill (3-4, 3.74 ERA) is scheduled to begin on Wednesday for New York. Megil made a career presence against Boston and conceded three runs on five hits in four innings, but did not factor in the judgment on September 4, 2024 during an 8-3 MATS victory.

Megil scored four earned runs in his first 30 innings this season, but gave 14 earned runs in the last 14 innings.

Megil said after his last start, “I am putting myself in bad conditions.” “This is the main thing, just ahead of the hits.”

The left-handed garat crochet (4-3, 2.00 ERA) is listed on Wednesday as a potential starter of Boston. Crochet has made an appearance against the mates during its career, going 0–1 with 2.70 ERA. Then with the Chicago White Sox, Crocket allowed a run on three hits in 3 1/3 innings in a 2–0 mate win.

“Let’s see what happens tomorrow,” Kora said. “We have to set a tempo from the mound. We have found the right man tomorrow; we just have to continue pitching. We did a good job (
