“Do we have RCB player …”

Amidst their ongoing Abhismal IPL 2025 campaign, Rajasthan Royals will aim to return with a victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday. In IPL 2025, RCB emerged as one of the strongest sides with five out of eight matches. However, they are spending difficult times in playing in their home ground and facing three necklaces. To rub salt on their wounds, their former companions such as Mohammad Siraj and Yuzvendra Chahal also gave exemplary demonstrations against RCB.
However, RR’s position is worse as they are facing their worst dreams with six out of eight matches. In front of the match against RCB, RR’s head coach Rahul Dravid made a suggestion to claim a win over Bengaluru.
“Do we have an RCB player last time? Play her in Xi Straitway!” Dravid said during the pre-match press conference.
In particular, Shimron Hetmier and all-rounder Vanindu Hasranga’s choice was a part of RCB. Hasranga also emerged as the team’s highest wicket -taker in IPL 2022.
This statement left everyone in the media. Playing in Chinnaswamy will be an ideal homecoming for Dravid, who grew up in Bengaluru and even started his IPL journey with RCB in 2008.
When asked about his ideas on homecoming, Dravid said, “No, not at all, man. I don’t think about it, to be very honest. Just trying to play a good game of cricket.”
In his two recent games against Delhi Capital (DC) and Lucknow Super Veterans (LSG), RR needed nine runs in the final, but lost the match after a tie and after two runs after two runs respectively.
“We know that we still have to play well to survive in this tournament. I know that we have lost some close games coming in it, but we have also played some good cricket. It is one of the tournaments where some balls are going here or there and we need to play well in those important moments, but you need to play well in those important moments,” he said.
