India’s 2011 World Cup winning team and member of Delhi Capital Bowling Coach Munaf Patel have been fined 25 percent of their match fees and have also submitted a demerit point to dissolve the IPL Code of Conduct during their team’s match at Arun Jetley Stadium in Deli on Wednesday. The IPL said in a statement on Thursday, “Munaf Patel accepted the level 1 crime under Article 2.20 – which is related to the behavior of the game – and accepted the approval of the match referee.”

He said, “For level 1 violations of the code of conduct, the decision of the match referee is final and binding,” said this.

The incident occurred during Delhi’s bowling when the fourth umpire allegedly stopped Delhi’s reserve player from entering the area to express Patel’s message in between. Former India’s pacer was seen making an argument with the umpire, tying his lace on the boundary line. The video of the incident went viral on social media.

Delhi Capital won an exciting super over after Mitchell Stark’s spot-on performance with the ball. He not only defended nine in the final over, which was against the set batsman Dhruv Jurlel and Shimron Hetmyer, but also limited Rajasthan to 11 runs in the super over.

KL Rahul and Triston Stabs comfortably guided the domestic side to win their first win of the season at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Stark was named Player of the Match for his power-pack bowling performance in the match. He returned with 1-36 figures in his four overs, while he scored two in the super over.

The victory helped Delhi regain the top position with 10 points in six matches and will take the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.
