Reel Turner, Pietra Tordin thorn the soul of the past

Reeline Turner and Pieetra Tordin scored each goal and Jessie Fleming as two assistance as Portland Thorns handed over Washington Spirit to the first road damage of the season 2–0 on Sunday afternoon.

Bella Biksbi made four Saves N routes for his second clean sheet of season for thorns (5-3-4, 19 digits), who moved up to fifth in NWSL with victory. Portland remained unbeaten (3–0-3) at home and improved 10–0-5 all-time in home matches against the soul.

Obre Kingsbury ended with four savings for fourth place Washington (7-4–1, 22 points), which suffered its first loss in matches (5–1-0).

Portland dominated the first half of action with a 12–5 lead in shot efforts. However, the thorns did not find behind the net until the 39th minute, when Turner took a small pass from the flaming in the middle of the box and pasted a right-leg shot in the top right corner for the fourth goal of the season.

Washington almost tied it in the 73rd minute when Makena Morris exploded a right -foot shot over a distance of about 10 yards over the crossbar.

Shuxby, shortly after the left post refuses Morris’s right-leg shot with diving stops, gave a long pass by Fleming and made it 2–0 in the 82nd minute, which held a right-leg shot from outside the box outside Kingsbury for his second goal of the season.
