CSK’s IPL 2025 What defeat against SRH for playoff expectations

Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday boosted their playoff qualification after defeating Chennai Super Kings. With the remaining five games, Pat Cummins -led side needs to win at least three more in the merit mix. With some important fixtures at home, SRH needs to go on an unbeaten run from here, if they actually promote their expectations of the top four finish in the league stage.
If Hyderabad wins all its remaining matches, their possibility of their qualification will not need to depend on the results of other teams. However, a single defeat here will make the landscape quite difficult for them.
The remaining matches of SRH:
May 2 – vs Gujarat Titans (far)
May 5 – vs Delhi Capital (Home)
May 10 – vs Kolkata Knight Riders (Home)
May 13 – vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (Away)
May 18 – vs Lucknow Super Veteran (Far)
Chennai Super Kings arrived in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad with 2 wins in 7 matches, putting them in the same equation as their opponents. But MS Dhoni’s side leaves all of them, but falls out of the playoff race. With 5 games for them to go in the season, Super Kings need to win all these games to stay in the mixture for the top four finish.
If CSK goes to an unbeaten run from here, they will manage to put 14 points on the board which gives them a chance to qualify. However, some results will require falling into CSK’s lap to seal a playoff spot.
Remaining CSK matches:
April 30 – vs Punjab Kings (Home)
May 3 – vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (Away)
May 12 – vs Rajasthan Royals (Home)
May 18 – vs Gujarat Titans (far)
