Number 4 Seed Coco Goff opened Poland’s number Seed IGA Swiytech in 6-1, 6-1 to 64 minutes in 64 minutes in Mutua Madrid’s semi-finals on Thursday.
Goff established a demonstration in the final against Belarus’s World No. 1 Aryana Sabalenka, who took care of trade in the semi-finals with a win of 6-3, 7-5 over Ukraine’s No. 17 Sea Elina Switolina.
Goff reached the finals in this WTA 1000 event for the first time and is in the first of its first title of 2025.
The service of the gaff was in peak form on Thursday, as he won 19 out of 21 first-service points (90.5 percent) and lost only six service points in total. He had seven aces for Swiatech, and Goff felt that his opponent did not attend the court to keep him.

Goff took a 5–4 lead in the all-time head-to-head series with Sabalenka, his most notable win in the 2023 US Open final, Goff’s first and so far only Grand Slam title.
Sabalanka is going to her fourth Madrid final. She won in 2021 and 2023 and fell into sweatek last year.
Sabalenka told the crowd after the match according to Tennis 365, “Thank you very much for the atmosphere brought here.”
Sabalanka won 29 of its 38 first-service points (76.3 percent), rescued 5 out of 7 and changed 4 out of 6 opportunities to break Switolina.
Below 40–0 in the final game, Switolina saved a match point, but could not repeat the feat.
Gauf and Sabalenka will meet to play for the title on Saturday.
