Brad Lord served five concrete innings to win his first career as Washington’s citizens on Thursday avoided a three-game sweep against Philadelphia Philips with a win 4–2.
A 25-year-old Ruki, Lord (1-3) allowed two runs and six hits with a walk and four strikes. Jose Ferler logged in two innings of relief in the ninth in the eighth before giving the way to George Lopez and Kyle Finnegan.
