ATP Roundup: Carlos Alkaraz Barcelona reaches quarter -finals

Top seeded Spaniad Carlos Alkaraz defeated Serbia’s Laslo Dizre 6–2, 6-4 on Thursday to reach the quarter-finals at Barcelona Open Bench Subdale in Spain.

Alakraj, who won the tournament in 2022 and 2023, required only 71 minutes to eliminate Dajre and set up a meeting with Australia’s No. 5 Seed Alex D Minaur, which is 6–1, 6–2 winners on Jacob Fernley, Britain.

Karen Khachanov of Russia kept Spain’s Jom Munar from 7-5, 6-4. Alejandro Davidovich Fokina faced another spaniard in the quarterfinal after saving Russia’s number 4 Andre Rubalv’s 7-5, 6-4 to 11 break points.

BMW Open

David Goffin of Belgium won 0-6, 7-5, 6–1 against Argentina’s Mariano Innovation, which to reach the quarter-finals in Munich, Germany.

Goffin saved four brake points in the decisive set and proceeded to face the fifth seed Francisco Cerendulo, also from Argentina, who proceeded with a 6-3, 6–2 win over Alexander Shavchhenko of Kazakhstan.
