Born in 2011, at the age of 4, began showing the talent of his cricket. Vaibhav’s father Sanjeev focused on his passion and decided to create a small sports area for him in the backyard of the house.
At the age of 9, Vaibhav’s father enrolled him in a cricket academy in a nearby city of Samastipur. It did not take long for the people around them to notice that Vaibhav was ahead of his age in terms of cricket talent.
“After practicing for two -and -a -half years, I gave under -16 tests for the Vijay Merchant Trophy,” Vaibhav said in a conversation with the Times of India. “I was on standby because of my age. By the grace of God, I started coaching under a former Ranji player Manish Ojha Sir. He has taught me a lot and whatever I am today is because of them.”
Vaibhav was only 12 years old when he played for Bihar in the Vinu Mankad Trophy, scoring around 400 runs in just five matches. It did not take him a long time to get up through rank in cricket, so that wherever he went, he turned his head.
Vaibhav, who started for Bihar at the age of 12, has quickly made a name for himself in the cricket world. His recent achievement, strengthened his position as an emerging star in the 58 -ball century against the Australian Under -19 team in a four -day game in Chennai.
Vaibhav is a part of the Bharat B -19 team for the Under -19 IV series in Mulapadu, Andhra Pradesh in November 2023.
He also portrayed a squad against Bangladesh and England’s U -19 teams in a tournament in India, which served as a platform for selectors to choose the Indian team for the ICC N -19 World Cup 2024.
Vaibhav started his first class in January this year at Bihar’s Ranji Trophy 2023-24 Elite Group B Clash against Mumbai in Patna.
In 12 years and 284 days, he became the youngest Indian to start the first class since 1986 and the youngest feature in the Ranji Trophy game for Bihar.
In September this year, Vaibhav started India’s U -19 in a young Test match against Australia in Chennai. He hit an impressive 62-gent 104 before exiting.
The consistent performance and dedication of youth talent has now made him a place in the U-19 squad of India. An IPL selection cannot be far away.
