Yankees remove Dewin Williams from a close role ‘for now’

Dewin Williams, Yankis’s struggling reliever, has been temporarily removed from the team’s close role, Manager Aaron Boon said on Sunday before his New York’s doubleheader with Toronto Blue Jais.
“For now, I am going to get him out of the role,” Bune said about Williams who have 11.25 ERAs in 10 games and have scored 10 earned runs in their first season in New York.
Two-time all-stars and two-time National League Traver Hoffman Award winners, Williams were acquired from Millvauki Brevers in December for Nestur Cortes and Infield Prospect Kaleb Durbin.
Luke Weaver, who became Yankis in the last month of the last season, would receive most of the representatives in the ninth innings in place of Williams.
Williams’ latest problems occurred on Friday. Blue Jais scored three runs in the ninth innings of winning 4–2 over Yankiz.
Alejandro Kirk hit a two-run double from Williams, which fell behind each of the three hits.
Kirk’s hit gave Williams his first blow save, although the right-handed batsmen were unstable this season and a non-service was pulled from the spot on 9 April in Detroit.
Williams, 27–12 with 30, 72 saves and 2.14 ERA Browns and Yankise in Career Relief.
