Indian cricketer Rinku Singh is set to join Samajwadi Party leader Priya Saroj on 8 June. The ceremony will be held at a hotel in Lucknow. With his IPL 2025 season with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Rinku now has time to focus on individual milestones. Earlier, there was speculation that the couple were already engaged. However, it has now been confirmed that formal engagement for this month is scheduled. Priya’s father, Tufni Saroj, a current MLA from the Tulujwadi party, had earlier confirmed that the two had expressed their desire to get married and sought approval from both families. “The engagement hasn’t happened yet; only preliminary discussions have taken place,” he told Annie at that time. Rinku was a minor IPL season this year, scoring 206 runs in 10 innings at an average of 29.42 and a healthy strike rate of 153.73. KKR failed to make the playoffs, ended its campaign in eighth place with 12 points and with a net run rate of -0.305.
Despite the weak IPL, Rinku is an important part of India’s T20I setup.
