A large part of Twins’ recent success is improving them in the plate. Minnesota has dropped the opponents from 26–13 in the last five matches after the crime for the first few weeks.

Soriano has picked up two matches (one beginning) against Minnesota. He is 0–1 with 13.50 ERA in those games and is allowed to score four runs on three hits in 2 2/3 innings. He went three and hit two.
Minnesota is expected to compete with veteran right-handed Ryan (1-2, 4.00 ERA), which is also slapped to start its sixth. Ryan hopes that he bounced back from his toughest outing of the season, in which he gave six runs on eight hits in five innings in five innings in a 6–2 defeat to Atlanta Braves last Sunday.
Ryan is 1–0 with 4.50 ERA in three careers, which begins against angels. He has allowed nine runs (eight acquired) on 18 hits in 16 innings and reached four and 24.
