East-India Star’s appeal to Virat Kohli: “KL Rahul needs to settle for Kantara festival”

After the celebration of Delhi Capital (DC) wicketkeeper-botter KL Rahul, after winning the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), ML went viral in short time in the IPL 2025 match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Rahul’s celebration was inspired by the film ‘Kantara’, later revealed in a video. Kantara is a 2022 Kannada film starring Rishabh Shetty, Sapthami Gowda and Achuth Kumar. Being a Karnataka player, KL has played his domestic cricket wholesale at M Chinnaswamy Stadium and has even played two IPL seasons for RCB in 2013 and 2016.

After playing an important role in DC’s victory over RCB in Bengaluru, KL, who was seen as a reserve and quiet personality on the field, was extremely animated, was throwing his chest and pointing to the ground and saying on his jersey saying that it (M Chinaswami Stadium) is his. He was also seen tapping his bat on the ground.

As RCB plays DC again, now at the later home ground, former India player Akash Chopra has urged former-RCB captain and current batsman Virat Kohli to settle the account.

“Who asked you to come here as a stranger, to come to this ground as a guest? You are the only one who has been ruled by this place. This is your kingdom, you should come here as a king. We want to bring that feeling for Kohli because the account should be settled for KL Rahul’s Kantara ceremony in Bengaluru.”

“Virat Kohli will be in Delhi, and Delhi is Kohli. However, Kohli will have to make a circle and say that this is their ground. It is an important match for both teams. Whatever wins, I would say that there will be a leg for merit, because you only need to win eight games.”

DC is ready to host RCB at Arun Jaitley Stadium in its reverse stability on Sunday. RCB finished third in the table with 12 points for its credit, while DC is second with several points, but better net run rate.

On Sunday, the winning of the game among the teams will reach close to the playoffs.
