In the previous article of this series, I wrote about The Sandlot. It is a fun film in Part II, Silier compared to Sandlot. There are two versions of The Bad News Bears, the original was released in 1976 and then a remake starring Billy Bob Thorrton about 30 years later that was nothing like the original in only clean humor.
In comparison, the original on IMDB found 7.3 out of 10 stars, where the Thornton version was only rated 5.8. The original version was the story of Little League baseball and children’s raga tag roundup that could not just play the game with any talent. They were a bubbling, mindless group of young children who wanted to have fun, but could not play baseball chaat.
Walter Mathou played the team’s coach, Morris buttermaker, who converted the misfortune of his squad into a winning team. The day saving for the team was two unexpected stars. For the first time, Amanda was the only woman of the Whirlitzer team and a pitching star played by Tatam O’Neel. Then there was a bad ass in the neighborhood riding on a motor bike on a motor bike played by Jackie Earl Haley and in the film as Kelly leak.
Directed by Michael Richie and written by Bill Lancaster, The Bad News Bears became so popular that not only the remake, but also two sequel, The Bad News Bears in Breaking Training (1977) and The Bad News Beers Go to Japan (1978). A television series was also formed which ran since 1979–1980. Jack Earl Haley also did a short film in 2021, titled “Life Emittes AET: Jackie Earl Haley on Bad News Bears.”
Perhaps apart from the Rocky series, most times do not match the entertainment value of sequel origin. The Bad News Bears is one such film. For the character of Mathu, in the film he portrays a former minor league player who works as a swimming pool cleaner, but the right bear is offered money to coach. The character of Tatam O’Neel is the daughter of an ex -girlfriend of Mathou as she should persuade to play for her team.

Walter Mathau (Morris Buttermaker)
It has been about 25 years after Mathau’s death, which passes through complications from heart disease. His film career is full of many awards and houses and his acting career includes 45 -year -old acting roles. His last film came to a year when he died. The presence of his final television in 1998 was playing the role of Frank Walsh in The Marriage Fool.
Mathou’s real name was Walter Matusachakshankasi. He was married twice and his second wife married in 1959, and he stayed with him until he was passed. Mathou also has three children. His parents came from Lithuania and Ukraine. Two years after Mathau, his second wife Carol Grace died.
Tatam O’Neel (Amanda Whirlitzer)
It is interesting that the character’s name in the film was chosen as Whirlitzer. The term is written as “Wurlitzer” and is the name of an American businessman named Rudolf Vurlitzer, who came from Germany and was the owner of a company who made pipe organs. For The Bad News Bears, O’Neel was 13 years old when the film was released and, in her role, she played the role of a back wise wise Little girl, who could actually toss baseball from the pitcher mound.
Known as the daughter of actor Ryan O’Neel, Tatam’s mother is Joona Moore, who was also an actress, but died in 1997. Ryan O’Neill also died in 2023. Vik Moro (Roy Turner)
Born in Victor Morozoff, the actor had an incredible tragic end of his life, when filming the twilight zone film, a helicopter in the scene damaged its roto, causing it to crashes on the pere and killed all three by two young child actors. Such a shocking death was that one of the children and sorrows was reduced. At that time Moro was only 53.
Vik Maro’s acting career in the film began in 1955 and was 47 years old when he releases bad news beer. Joyce Van Patton (Cleveland). Jackie Earl Haley (Kelly Leake)
Here we have a bad ass of the film. Motorcycle ride in Kelly leaks, excellent baseball players. He is on the practice beer and seeing how terrible they are and are convinced to play for the team. Entertainment was in his life for Haley because his father was a radio show host and a disc jockey, but also acted. From Los Angeles, Haley now lives in San Antonio Texas with his third wife.
Haley is athletic and still holds black belts in Kenpo and Taekwondo. Prior to the filming of The Bad News Bears, Haley appeared in two other films, The Outside Man and the Day of the Grand. He reiterated his role of Kelly Leak in two sequels in two sequels in bad news bears, “braking training” and “Beers Go to Japan”. Haley has been nominated for several film awards and was a part of two films, The Union and Dead Money last year.
In 1979, he acted in the highly popular cycling film, Breaking Ame. On the tube he has been in the partrian family, Marcus Welby, McGivor, and achieves a life among others. His final television appearance came in 2023 when he attended killing it. Haley is on stage in Slab Boys (1983) and also in video games.
Alfred Looter III (Oglivi)
The Nereyer Oglivi was played by Lutter, who got his star in films with a role in Ellis, no longer lived here and for that casting he was a candidate for the BAFTA Award for the most promising newcomer for film roles. Bad news will follow two more film roles before being put into a bear. Looters were in the 1977 sequel and then ended their film career in the 1976 television series family.
Today, Lutar has become an entrepreneur, engineer and advisor at the age of 63.
Chris Barns (Tanner Boyle)
In the film, Tanner Boyle was a child with dirty small habits. Like peanut character Pigpain. His current life cannot be found much through the Internet, except that his film career ended in 1983 and he turned 60 in this June.
Erin Blunt (Ahmed Abdul Rahim). Child with attitude. This would be a clever way to explain the character of the blunt. But he brought his attitude to the big screen, making you laugh. Like the Barns above, there could not be a lot of information on their current situation, but his acting role ended several years ago. Today he is alive and well alive at the age of 63.
Gary Lee Cavganaro (Engelberg)
