The reason behind Rajasthan Royals match-fixing allegations, report shows that ‘ticket demand’ twist

Rajasthan Royals (RR) returned with a strong letter stated after allegations of match-fixing by Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) Ed-Hawk Committee convenor Jaideep Bihani. After RR’s narrow defeat against Delhi Capital and Lucknow Super Giants – both of them made the team despite being in the position of cruise to win – RR has now been accused of match -fixing. While the franchise has clearly objected to any allegations, a report recently stated that the main objective behind the RCA’s comments may be the sale of tickets.

According to a Times of India report, RCA has received less tickets during IPL 2025, as they usually get the root cause behind their displeasure.

According to the report, RCA will usually be given about 1,800 tickets per match by Rajasthan Royals, but in 2025 that number has been reduced considerably. RCA is reportedly given about 1,000-1,200 tickets per match.

“At the beginning of the season, the BCCI gave us a clear guideline that since the RCA was dissolved, we will work with the Rajasthan State Sports Council (RSSC) for all the arrangements.”

The inner source said, “RCA Ed-Hawk Committee and disgruntled members of their colleagues are demanding an excessive amount of tickets, and we are not entertaining them. This is the only reason behind all this drama.”

While Rajasthan Royals have already denied the allegations leveled by Bihani, now a BCCI official has also allegedly spoken against RCA.

“RCA is currently dissolved. A ad hoc committee has been formed, and with being close to elections, there are many plays. Everyone wants attention. The BCCI has an anti-corruption unit that is working on 24×7, which is 24×7 to keep away from the game. There is no truth for these allegations,” BCCI said on conditions.

The RR management strongly objected to these claims, saying, “We reject all the allegations made by the convenor of the ad hoc committee. Such public statements are not only misleading, but Rajasthan Royals, Royal Multi Sport Private Limited (RMPL), The Crint, and BCCI’s prestige and creating serious disadvantages.”

Rajasthan Royals have won only two out of their first eight matches, and have lost their two most recent games in brilliant fashion, both failing to score 9 runs in 6 balls on both occasions.
