Number 2 IGA Swiatek, Number 3 Jessica Pegula Step in the third round at Italian Open

Number 2 Seed IGA Swiatek needed only 52 minutes to proceed in the third round at the Italian Open, which was topping the home-country’s favorite Elisbetta Kokareto 6–1, 6–0 on Thursday in Rome.

It was a major performance by Swiyatech, who won 84 percent (16 out of 16) on its first serve as compared to just 36 percent (25 out of 25) for his opponent. He did not face a break point and broke Koksiarato’s service in five of the six occasions.

“I felt that the ball was like listening to me today and I had complete control over the match, so it was always very comfortable to play a match,” said Swetech.

“You just need to continue the work you’re doing and do not expect that it is going to happen more often.”
