Impressed by Abhishek Nair’s presence, Kolkata Knight Riders Eye Batting Revival against Gujarat Titans

Champion Kolkata Knight Riders will hop that his strip-riding batting unit will tighten its act against Gujarat Titans in the IPL match in Kolkata on Monday. Knight Riders faced an inexplicable recession in their previous match, chasing 112 against Punjab Kings in Mullanpur for 95, and the collapse was a reflection of overall rot that was set between their batsmen. But they have a ray of hope. The IPL champion has planted in Abhishek Nair, which was recently dismissed by the post of Assistant Coach of India by BCCI, made officially before exiting the national setup.

The homecoming of former KKR assistant coach Nair is sure to give a maintenance to Kolkats, who currently have six points out of seven matches and need to win at least five of their remaining seven matches to stay in the playoff race.

He has already started working with prominent batsmen like Vice-Captain Venkatesh Iyer and Ramandip Singh-he has two weak links this season.

This season, the team’s most expensive player Iyer has scored only 121 runs for Rs 23.75 crore, on an average of 24.20, while Ramandip has scored just 29 runs in six innings.

Andre Russell scored only 34 runs in five innings, while Rinku Singh has scored 116 runs at an average of 38.66.

Only Rahane (221 runs, 2 half -centuries) and young Angakish Raghuvanshi (170 runs) have shown the promise, although 20 years are also struggling with continuity.

At the top, Quinton de Coke and Sunil Narin have made some good starts, but have not distributed regularly and KKR would hop that Nair will get a solution for it.

Two pitches have been prepared for this match, and one has an additional layer of grass that has not been trimmed.

The final decision on the surface will depend on the team’s strategy, even KKR has expressed its displeasure for not getting the “benefit of the house”.

Summer memories of 2014

But above these, defeat in Mulanpur should serve as a catalyst of change. In IPL 2014, a Gautam Gambhir was hovering over KKR 121, not chasing 171 by Rajasthan Royals without any loss, courtesy Skipper and a blazing beginning with Robin Uthappa.

But one of the most dramatic collapse of the IPL, KKR lost six wickets for two runs, including Praveen Tambay a hat -trick, and he was reduced by 10 runs, ending at 160/6.

However, the defeat was a serious preamble for KKR’s nine-match victory, which ended him in 2014 to win the title. So, can they do something similar here?

Well oil

Titans, led by Shubman Gill, have lost only twice this season. His bowling attack is a major strength, in which Pesar Prasad Krishna has led his charge with 14 wickets at an average of 14.35 in seven matches.

Krishna’s ability to exclude batsmen and separate his length has been important, as he was seen in his recent magic against Lucknow super veterans when he returned with four wickets.

Left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore has taken 11 wickets and can re-achieve the variable of the eden surface and re-achieve the slow nature. Mohammad Siraj is also one of the top -10 wickets this season.
