Philadelphia eagles are not quietly back to the NFL owners as a vote, which is potentially taxing to ban the “Tush Push” play.
As reported by athletic, the team is actively calling other franchisees to campaign for its prestigious drama to remain legal in NFL.
Their effort comes on the heels of their own push of Green Bay Packers. In a March offer, Packers introduced a possible rule change, which would prevent any aggressive player from pushing the other from behind after receiving Snap immediately.
Under the proposal of packers, the offense will be punished for 10 yards for a push violation.
Packers cited the player’s safety and the pace of the game, known as the justification for banning the play, known as “Tush Push” and “Brotherly Shov”, when Eagles began to play the play more regularly during the 2022 season.
Philadelphia was ranked in the top 10 for fourth-down conversions and extended by the top five, large-scale “tush push” in conversion percentage in each of the last three sessions. Last year, Eagles converted 70.4 percent of its adaptations, fourth best in NFL.
The league owners voted last month, but an informal vote indicated that the teams were divided 16–16 on the issue. To ban the play, 24 teams will need to vote in favor of the Packers’ Rules proposal. The team owners are expected to call on various subjects in Miniapolis on Wednesday and Thursday.
NFL Committee Chairman Rich McKake said last month, “There are certain people who have health and safety concerns, but there are many people who have football concerns, and what happened in the room with such a discussion.”
