When the Stanley Cup playoff starts on Saturday, Captain Brady Takchuk will be on ice for Ottawa Senators.

The term comes from Head Coach Travis Green, who had a simple response on Monday when asked if Tkachuk will return to Tkachuk time for the start of the playoffs: “I do.”

The 25 -year -old Takchuk first practiced on Monday for the first time after maintaining an upper body injury from a hit by Ryan Graves of Pittsburgh. Forward leads Ottawa with 29 goals and ranks third in the team with 55 points in 71 matches.

“He has to do (practice),” Green said. “If you want to be on top of your game after being out … then he is not separate from any other player, you are back and have some practice time to get time. He is now skating on his own and it is good to get it with the group. I felt that he felt fast. And I am sure he will skate again (Tuesday).”

Tkachuk will recall his eighth consecutive game on Tuesday when Censor Chicago was hosting BlackHox. It is uncertain whether he will play at the conclusion of a regular-season on Thursday against the Carolina storm attack.
