Shubman Gill delivered on the promise, regret Handingly at Edgaston with Eden Test double ton

IND vs Eng: Shubman Gill missed a double ton in Handingley, but was designed for India’s best score in Adgbaston

Shubman Gill became the first Indian captain to score a dual century with a surprising show in the IND vs ENG 2nd Test in England. Gill presented his side from the front in an innings of control and disregard. The Indian captain was under pressure in India vs England series, but has run this, it is the best batsman ever.

Shubman Gill hugs captaincy, follow the record

Shubman Gill was handed over the baton in front of the more experienced Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant. He was named the captain of one side, from where he was left first 3 trials. He did not build a century abroad, and took only an average of 35 in his career. However, Indian selectors and management saw him enough to play a role at the age of 25.

Shubman has taken it into style. The 25 -year -old had targeted to be the best batsman before the India vs England series. In 3 innings in the tour, Gill has the highest score by an Indian in England, two centuries. All this looks good in its new position comfortably – No. 4. Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli have taken over for more than 3 decades. Gill had large shoes to fill and started well.

“Honestly, when I want to go out of there and bat, I just want to play as a batsman, really don’t want to think that I am the captain of the team, because I think I sometimes put a lot of pressure on you. Whenever I am going there, I want to play as a batsman and what i want to be in the series, and what I am doing, what am Shubman Gill said before 1 Test.

Cut the opposition out of the game

While Shubman started with a blast, his side still lost the IND vs Eng 1st test in Leeds. In both the innings, India lost two falls while losing 7/41 and 6/31. Gill was eager to accept responsibility, and was not leaving England out of the competition. He was batting before catching Shoaib Bashir deep on 147. His wicket was the initial point of falling India from 430/3 to 471.

“I was batting at 147 and the way I came out, perhaps I could score 50 more in partnership with Rishabh. If you get a good ball and you get out, it’s fine, but once you are set and you know that you do not really have so much depth in your batting order, then perhaps the top order can take a little more responsibility and the game can be completely out.” Gill had said that post Post Ind vs. ENG 1st test in Headingley.

A week later, Shubman took that responsibility. After the dismissal of Nitish Reddy, India left him at 211/5. The Indian captain then moved 203 runs with Ravindra Jadeja. He added another century partnership with Washington Sundar to take 500 to the previous India. Gill now has the highest score for India in Tests in England, which crossed the 221 of Sunil Gavaskar at Oval in 1979.

Gill spoke with the bat in the hand. Record, if there is any indication of their predecessors at number 4, will also follow it.
