Neeraj Chopra reveals a conversation with the coach before dissolving a 90 -meter mark in the Diamond League

This was a “bitwatch” outing for Neeraj Chopra in the Doha Diamond League as he finally violated the 90-meter mark, but had to settle to finish second and his waist injury was almost recovering, Star Indian Jewelin thrower vowed to throw more 90 meter-plus in this season. The 27-year-old Double Olympic medalist sent 90.23 meters to his spear in his third attempt to join the list of Jewelin throrses, headed by his current coach Jan Zelezni, the Czech Republic, who has recorded 90 meter-plus efforts. He became the third Asian and 25th position to achieve tricks.
However, German’s Julian Weber replaced the tables and topped the 91.06 meter and topped with its sixth and final throw. Chopra was the leader before Weber’s final attempt.
Along with removing the monkey from his back, Chopra claimed that his best is yet to come and fans could expect more 90 meters throw this year, which is an elusive mark for him for the last five years.
Now, a confidence and injury-free Chopra is focusing on fixing certain aspects under Zelezoni’s Flaws.
Zelezani was planted as Chopra’s coach in November last year. But Chopra said that they have been working together only since February.
Chopra said, “I am very happy with the 90 -meter mark, but this is really a little experience. But no matter, I and my coaches are still working on some aspects of my throw. We started working together only in February this year. I am still learning things.”
“He usually does not go to the diamond league, but he came with me because he told me that today is the day to achieve 90 meters.
“I was always feeling something in my waist in the last few years. I did not try my best. The World Championship will be held in Tokyo from 13 September to 21 September.
When asked about its next goal, now the 90 -meter mark was broken, Chopra said, “My next target is 90 meters. I believe I am ready to throw forward. It is just the beginning of a long season.
“I am very happy that John Zelezni is my coach and we have worked hard in South Africa. We are still working on some aspects.” Chopra said that the situation here also helped him find a big throw and Zelejony also told him that he could cross the 90 -meter mark.
“When I was warm-up, my coach said, today is the day when I can throw 90 meters. Even after my 90 meters throw, he told me that I can throw 2-3 meters away.
“The wind helps to ensure and the weather is slightly warm and it helps. It is the first competition of the year, so everyone came with a fresh mindset after a long time and was hungry for the throwing part (SIC).
“I also told Julian (Weber) that we can throw 90 meters. I am happy for him too. We have tried a lot for 90 meters for so many years, and so we are happy. It is like a good push between us and in the next competition we will push each other again and throw forward.”
Chopra said that when he first violated the national record, he had to finish twice in second place.
“This happened earlier also. When I threw an NR in Turku with more than 89 m, I abolished another (SIC). In Stockholm DL, when I threw 89.94 meters, I was again again, so here too,” Chopra said.
Weber said on his behalf that he did nothing extra, but he feels that he can dissolve the 90 -meter mark here.
“I didn’t know how it happened. I had a very good massage for my physiotherapist. It was fun today. Neeraj threw his first 90 meter plus and I moved beyond the mark in my last throw and it was perfect.
“I was very happy for him. We have been fighting for 90 meters throw for a long time and we both achieved it today. So, it was very special for us.” This was also the first 90m-plus attempt by Weber, and he became the 26th Javalin thrower to break the prestigious mark. His effort was the world’s leader this season so far.
Two -time world champion and Paris Olympic bronze medalist Anderson Peters of Granada was third with his initial throw of 84.65 meters.
