Addressing the team’s quarterback status on Tuesday, the general manager of Pittsburgh Steellers, Omar Khan, said that the club planned to add a pair of signal callers to the roster.

Currently there are quarterbacks Mason Rudolf on the roster, who are a former steeler, returning after a season with Tencie Titans, and Skylar Thompson, former Miami Dolphin Backup.

“I know you are going to ask about the quarterback situation,” Khan said. “I will only tell you that we discussed in Palm Beach (in league meetings) a few weeks ago. We go to the camp with four quarterbacks. Right now we have two on the roster. All the options are on the table how we get the last two.

Head coach Mike Tomlin then asked how the indefinite situation includes free-agent quarterback Aaron Roders, which affects the steeler’s approach to the NFL draft, which begins on Thursday.

“It’s not,” said Tomlin.

Steellers conduct the number 21 of the first round overall. Should the team select quarterbacks, which will affect the roaders.

“I think what you often do in the draft, perhaps some talent affects the acquisition that occurs later,” Tomlin said. “We will see how the acquisition takes place at the end of this week.”

Russell Wilson and Justin Fields were starting in Pittsburgh last season and both signed free agent deals to play in New York – with Wilson veterans, fields with jets.

The 41-year-old Rodgers passed for 3,897 yards and 28 Touchdown in 2024 with New York Jets, returning to the season-ending Akilis injury in their first game with the team in September 2023.

The 10 -time Pro Bowl selection is fifth in the league history and seventh in the passing yard (62,952) in the touchdown pass (503).
