Salvador Perez Royals sees another win vs. M victory

While Cal Rale seems to have strangled the mantle of best catcher in baseball this season, Salvador Perez showed that it has not been done yet.
Perez on Tuesday scored two-for-5 runs with two doubles and three RBI to lead the Canasus City Royals to lead the Cancer City Royals for a 6-3 win against Rale and Meriners.
The four-game chain continues in Seattle on Wednesday night.
Perez has been considered a catcher prevalent in the American League for the past decade. He is a nine-time all-star, who has five silver sluggles awards and just several gold gloves.
In 2021, his 48 domestic runs set a major-league record for a catcher-a mark rale is seriously threatening as he has hit 33 so far this season.
But 35-year-old Perez has shown signs of slowing down in 2025, batting.
Perez on Monday indicated the passage of the torch in the series opener, when he first came into the plate and gave Rale a patt on “Big Dumper”.
While Rale worked in that game, it was on the night of Perez on Tuesday.
He doubled two runs in the fifth innings, doubled again in the seventh and a run-scoring single in the ninth.
Perez recently said, “They always say that the good thing about baseball is that you have a lot of opportunities.”
The first double took him to Alex Gordon for the sixth hit in franchise history with 1,644.
“I mean, those numbers are historical,” Royals manager Matt Quataro said about the achievement of Perez. “In the Salvi, the captain of the team, the leaders all the time, all the time work hard, he never wants to come out. All things that you see as a team partner and as a staff member, and for him only keep checking the boxes under the hall of fame career, it is really special to be able to see.”
Five Royals won the scorer for 4 1/3 innings, as a one-right to win the second time in their last 10 matches.
“Bulpen harassed,” Quatero said. “I mean, it’s a hard lineup. They are difficult to navigate with their pinch-hitters. They can beat you in many different ways, and the bulpen was excluded from the lights.”
Randy Arozrena held the third time in the first two matches of the series for The Meriners, who won six of their last nine matches.
Meanwhile, the rale was 0 -for -4 with four strikes.
Meriners’ manager Dan Wilson said, “We tried to make a comeback one -two times … but just not able to get them.” “Sometimes this is going to happen. This is baseball. But we are going to be as aggressive as we can and continue to try to pressurize another team.”
The Royals in Wednesday’s pitching match included the Left-hander Noah Cameron (2-4, 2.79 ERA) against the Mariners Ika right-handed Logan Gilbert (2-2, 3.55).
Cameron, who would be facing merriners for the first time, sported 0.85 ERA in his last four before his initial five beginnings. This included a 5-4 necklace for Los Angeles Dojers last Friday, in which he conceded five runs on just three hits in four innings. Two of those hits were homeers.
Gilbert, who missed a seven weeks with a perfect elbow flexor tension, is 1–1 with 5.87 ERA since his return from the injured list. He did not get any decision in Texas on Friday when he allowed four runs on five hits in 5 1/3 innings. Six careers have 5.03 ERAs with Gilbert 2–1, which begins against Royals.
