Mets used power surge to sweep Rocky again

Pete Alonso and Jeff McNell had two domestic runs and three hits, Brett Batty and Francisco Alverages also deepened, and New York Met’s defeated Colorado Rockies 13–5 in Danver on Sunday.

It was Alonso’s 23rd career multi-home game, the highest in the history of New York. Now he has 243 career home runs, in second place for 252 of Darryl Strawberry.

Alwarz and Juan Soto had three hits, and Ronnie Mauricio contributed a pair of single for New York, which shed Colorado for the second time over a period of eight days.

Ryan McMahon, Tyler Freeman and Jordan Beck made two hits each for Rockies. Colorado starter Chase Dollander (2-6) conceded five runs on eight hits in three innings.

Met’s Starter Tyler Megil (5-4) did not allow a hit through four innings, while his team built a lead.

McNell captuated a 10-pic at-bat with a domestic run to lead the second innings, and Francisco Alverez made it 2–0 with the RBI Single to Center.

New York was more and more in the third. Soto led a single, and Alonso followed the first of his two-run homers and made it 4–0.

McNell gained an edge to promote three runs shots in the sixth, fourth of his second homer in the game and the sixth of the season.

The Rockies traveled to Megil only two walking, until Sam Hiliard led the fifth with The Double to Right Field. He later scored a score on Brexon Fulford’s single, Freeman Walk, and Bake ran with a double in Fulford.

Megil hit Ryan Ritter to load the targets, but got the next two batsmen to end their day. He conceded two runs on three hits and hit five.

Batty’s two -run shot in the seventh, his seventh homer of the season made it an eight -run game, and Hunter Goodman had an RBI single for Colorado near Goodman.

Alonso Hit is the 17th home run of the season in the eighth innings, Alvarez hit a single homer in the ninth, and Bake doubled the RBI in the ninth and scored on Ritter’s single to complete the scoring.
