Stuart Broad WTC finals joined South Africa as ‘Advisor’ for Australia 2025 vs.

Australia’s Ashes Nemesis WTC Finals joins the Proteus Camp ahead of Lord’s Shodown for 2025.
South Africa have pulled off a surprise ahead of the World Test Championship (WTC) Final by bringing in Stuart Broad as a consultant for their showdown against Australia.
The former England fast bowler, who retired from international cricket last year, will join the Proteas at Lord’s on June 9, just two days before the final. It’s a fascinating development, given Broad’s long-standing rivalry with Australia during the Ashes, and his presence is expected to offer South Africa valuable insight into the conditions at Lord’s.
Broad loves to torment Australia – can he help SA deny them again?
The inclusion of Stuart Broad is a brilliant tactical move. With 153 wickets against them, the 37-year-old has wreaked havoc on Australia like no other bowler in Test history. With South Africa aiming for their first major ICC title since 1998, his knowledge of Australian batters and ability to take advantage of their weaknesses, particularly in English conditions, could fill gaps in South Africa’s preparations.
With 604 Test wickets, Broad is second only to James Anderson in England’s history, and his record at Lord’s is equally impressive—113 wickets in 28 Tests, bettered only by Anderson’s 123.
South Africa to face Zimbabwe to prepare for WTC Final
The South African team is already in the UK and will warm up against Zimbabwe on June 4 at the Arundel Castle Cricket Ground in Sussex from Tuesday in their Final build-up. After defeating India in 2023, Pat Cummins’ team is making their second appearance in a WTC Final when they play SA on June 11.
