Cincinnati Reds will look at the creation of a new winner streak and capture his third straight series when he hosts Seattle Meriners on Thursday afternoon who was in a rubber match of his three-game sets.
Reds ended his four-game winning streak by losing 5-3 to Meriners on Wednesday.
Meriners won five of their last six matches on Thursday. They have also dominated the all-time chain among the teams, defeating Cincinnati 20–6.
The teams played a game that had a controversial call in the eighth innings, as the plate umpire Chris Segal ruled the Better’s intervention on Reds Austin Hauze. This resulted in a strikeout and also erased a theft base by Eli de la cruise, which was automatically called out to another by two runs with Cincinnati to another.
“Due to the situation of the game, you go out from there and you want to shout, and they gave me a good interpretation,” said Reds Manager Terry Francona. “I appreciated that he did not insult me (insulting me). He said, ‘I know this (smelly)’ because Ellie was easily safe, but (Meriners Catcher Cal Rale) had to change his throw because (haz ‘) came into the body plate.
“I went and looked at it. … It hurts that part of the game, but I respect the way (Segal) handled it.”
Cincinnati scored three runs in the seventh innings and finished eighth with a single by de la Cruise.
Meriners manager Dan Wilson, who was caught for these two teams in the 1990s, said, “It was a big drama, there is no doubt, and it is a drama that is not called many times.”
“I feel that it should be called more, but it really seemed to be it that it does not need to contact.
Raley went deep from both sides of the plate in Wednesday’s victory. Both Homeers gave him 100 for his career and seven for the season.
Seattle was originally going to send Brian Wu to the mound at the right of the series, but was taken back to Toronto Blue Jais on Friday’s game.
Instead, Meriners are remembering the Right-Hander Emerson Hancock (0–1, 81.00 ERA) to make their second start of the season from Triple-e Tacoma. Hancock was tagged for six runs on seven hits on March 31, Detroit Tigers, recording just two outs in the 9-6 defeat.
Hancock will make her first career appearance against Cincinnati.
Cincinnati will compete with the right-handed Brady Singer (3–0, 3.18), which will start his fourth of the season. Reds batsmen have scored 30 runs in their three starts, in which the singer has won all three outings.
The singer will make the start of his sixth career and the seventh appearance against Mariners. It is 1-2 with 3.60 ERA in those outings.
