Reds again take advantage of the road crisis of cardinals

Cincinnati Reds Catcher Jose Trevino (35) Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals, on Monday, April 28, 2025, run the hideout after killing a homer in the third innings of an MLB game, which is in the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.

Noelvi Marte and Cincinnati Reds will look at their roles on Tuesday night when they will host St. Louis Cardinals in the second game of the four-game series.

Marte with RBI Triple 1-for-2 and on Monday with two walks in Reds’ 3–1 series-opening win. Cincinnati has won five games in a season for the first time this season.

The third basman is 16 -for -34 (.471) with 16 RBI in their last eight matches.

Mart started the season with the new Cincinnati manager Terry Frankona at Triple-e Louisville, indicating that he would have to earn his way back to the Major League roster.

After batting through nine matches for Louisville.

A few days later, Reds promoted Mart again, and he took over as a regular third basman on 18 April.

Frankona said, “He has been a good worker, and he was the same worker when we used to sit in spring training, which is always a good sign,” Frankona said. “And like killing, he is advancing his legs in third place better, which is aggressively good. You can tell that he is feeling good because he is working hard. But he too is not leaving only that right-level approach, which I think I really keep him balanced and lives through the ball.”

It is not just Marte doing its share. Gavin Lux moved to 3 -for -4 with two couples on Monday, while Ellie de La Cruise also doubled as the two extended their hitting streaks to 12 games.

Matt McLin snatched the 0-for-21 drought with the seventh-inning single.

Cardinals are looking for any signal of hope on the road as they have started from St. Louis season 2-12.

Cardinals were hunted on Monday in another aspect of Sinkinati’s Hot Streak – Slick Defense. Center fielder TJ Fridal looted Nolan Gordeman with a slipping catch in the fourth innings. In the fifth, Cature Jose Travino first threw the lead runner out in third place for the first outside and then McClen robbed Lars Nutbar of an RBI Single when he chose a grounder and started 4-6-3 double play.

Cardinals’ manager Oliver Marmol said, “You are expecting a crooked number there, especially the way (Namalbar) is swinging it on top of the lineup, if we get those people and get them,” said Oliver Marmol, the manager of Cardinals. “But this did not happen.”

Cardinals will send the right-handed micolus (0-2, 5.70 ERA) to the mound on Tuesday. Last Wednesday, Mikolus made his best debut in the young season, threw six shutouts, allowing six hits, but Atlanta Braves did not get any decision in defeat 4–1. Cardinals have lost all the five of Micolus starting this year.

The 21 career appearance against Mikolas Cincinnati (19 start) is 5-8 with 5.80 ERA.

The Reds Brady will counter the singer (4–0, 3.62 ERA), which will start the sixth of the season. The right hand has been a beneficiary of strong support, as Cincinnati has scored 42 runs in her outing. Singer started his career against St. Louis only once, a defeat on 22 September, 2020.

Cincinnati on Sunday scratched the correct fielder Jake Fraley from the lineup from the lineup before the first pitch on Monday due to a correct quad fork in a 8–1 win over Colorado Rockies. He was replaced by Blake Dunn, who went to 1 -for -3.
