Mathieu van der Poel Tour Day takes Stage 2 in France

The Netherlands’s Matthew Van Der Poyl won his second tour day France stage by pulling away from the pack for a stage 2 win on Sunday in France.
Belgian -born van Der Pael, holding the 112nd Tour de France, assured the second straight day of a person of the Belgium descended in France, when Jasper Philipson won in the early stage.
On Sunday, a late sprint closed any attack from fellow riders by “Flying Dutchman”, including Slovenia’s champion Tedes Pogkar, Jhontan Narwaz of Ecuador (who led to the summit) and strong push from Kevin Wouquelin of France.
In this race, Van Der Pael’s first phase of victory came in 2021 during the same stage 2 segment.
Pogkar went above the 18th and now sat second after two days of ride. Two -time winner Jonas Winggard of Denmark is third.
Three other French top 8 include Vouquelin: Romain Gregori, Julian Alfilipa and Orellian Perat Pientre.
The race resumes again with Stage 3 on Monday, a smooth 178.3-km ride from Bulogne-Sur-Mer to Dankark.
