Valkyries defeats sparks for the first time road win

Golden State Volcaries first recorded another franchise on Friday night, with Carla Light’s team-high 19 points and the second quarter for the victory of 82-73 WNBA Road at Los Angeles Sparks.
Genel Salon had 13 out of 18 points in the first half, while Kayla Thornton added 14 and Veronica Burton 12 for the Golden State, an expansion team that played their first two games at home, where she recorded her first win against Washington Mistics on Wednesday night.
Deerica Hambi led all scorers with 25 points for Sparks, who dropped their third straight since opening the season with an 84–67 win in the Golden State in the opening game of Vulkiris last Friday night.
After looking at the 7–1 lead in the seventh minute of the first quarter, Valkyries again flipped the table, excluding the hosts 40–15 for the rest of the half.
The heart of the run reduced the first two periods, using 8–1 within 26–24 by the end of the first quarter with the Golden State. The sparks were then scorers for the first 7 1/2 minute of the second quarter as Walkaries took a 42-26 lead. Salon buried a pair of 3-pointers in 18–0, period-opening flour.
The Golden State led more than 20 before Los Angeles surrendered in the last 8 1/2 minute, excluding the visitors from 14–2, with 2:32 within 73–68. Kelsey Plum buried the 3-pointer in the run.
But held on the free-thro line, Thornton buried three directly after flying on 3-pointers before Burton and Salon and to keep sparks on the length of the hand jointly for six and free throw.
Light, who came out of the bench, killed seven of his 10 shots and 3-point attempts. Salon bombed for a total of about half in four 3-pointers, while Thornton completed the double-dobbal with a game-high-tie 10 rebounds.
Thornton had four theft and Burton Fives, forcing 18 sparks turnover.
Plums, who used to explode for 37 points, were held in San Francisco last week, this time to go with four theft. Odyssey Sims clung to 13 points, while Azura Stevens pulled a team-high 10 rebounds to complement six points.
