Who will replace Virat Kohli at number 4 in the IND vs Eng Test series?

Virat Kohli can vacate the number 4 location in India’s Test line-up, according to Shubman Gill, KL Rahul and Karun Nair experts.
Since the last time India visited England, the team has lost its number 2, number 3, number 4 and number 5. In a month’s time, the India cricket team will start their new era, Sans Virat Kohli, who played no 4 spots, played 160 innings. Even though other spots are filled, no one is 4 vacant because England tour England once again.
Virat Kohli, who announced his test retirement on 12 May, an average of just 33.21 in England in 33 innings. But it was a 2018 tour that defined Kohli’s Test career. After struggling on the 2014 tour, Kohli re -worked on his technology and returned as a demon, scoring two centuries and three half -centuries in a series, where he scored 593 runs at an average of 59.30. There will be no Kohli in this English summer, at least playing Test cricket. Therefore, who will take that huge responsibility from Sachin Tendulkar?
Who converts Virat Kohli to 4?
Candidate:
- Shubman Gill
- KL Rahul
- Karun Nair
Shubman Gill
There are at least three candidates: Shubman Gill, KL Rahul and Karun Nair for the ING vs ENG Test series. While Akash Chopra wants Sai Sudhrson at number 3 and Shubman Gill at number 4, Sanjay Bangar wants to see Karun Nair at number 4.
To capture the number 4 spot for Gill, he will need to leave the number 3 dream. Cheteshwar Pujara left the legacy of a warrior at number 3, scoring more than 6500 runs in 155 innings. Gill failed to match that heritage. At number 3, Gill has scored an average of 1019 runs at 37.74. In distant tests, the average falls in 12 innings to 19.27. Although this is not enough time to judge a batsman, Gill has certainly not affected in his early days.
However, if India has to accommodate Sai Reformson in the XI -playing test, Gill will need to vacate the number 3 for the Tamil Nadu batsman. But should the team management not give him a 4 slot when Gill’s average is only 14.66 in England?
KL Rahul
In 101 innings, KL Rahul has opened the innings, played at No 3, number 4 and number 6. Now, Mr. Flexible can once again see a change in his batting position. But this time, it can be permanent. Despite succeeding as an opener in England, KL Rahul can be asked to play a 4 role after Virat Kohli’s testing retirement, including 37.31 average in 16 innings, including two centuries.
The question is, should India take that call? Rahul is suffering from constant tampering of his batting position. And, his most success has come as a opener. While he has done very well at number 5 in Odis, red-ball is a separate ball game. In addition, Rohit Sharma also vacated the initial slot, requiring an experienced player to give India a good start. Rahul should be opening instead of Sai Reformson.
KL Rahul in England
Batting position | Inn | Run | HS | average | 100 | 50 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
overall | 18 | 614 | 149 | 34.11 | 2 | 1 |
As a opener | 16 | 597 | 149 | 37.31 | 2 | 1 |
But not | 2 | 17 | 13 | 8.50 | 0 | 0 |
Karun Nair
At the age of 33, Karun Nair is dreaming of a test return. He has done everything right, as Sanjay Bangar told an ESPN Cricinfo show, and now, this is his time to claim that place. Virat Kohli should evacuate the opportunity, another experienced batsman should take a slot.
Nair’s only century (a triple handen) for India was when he batted at number 5. He has batted at number 4, 5 and 6. However, if Nair returns and no one takes 4 slots, where does Sai reforms fits?
Team management will have to call on potential versus experience. Even if reforms has shown a lot of potential, should India give him the benefit of doubt or to rely on Nair’s experience? This is a call that will define the new era of Team India in the IND vs ENG Test series.
