Good news for CSK! After IPL 2025, the Developed Brevis shines in ‘Yellow’

The INR joined the Dewald Brevis CSK for 2.2 crores and looks like a great investment from a 5 -time champion.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) might have endured their worst-ever IPL season in 2025, but in Dewald Brevis, they seem to have unearthed a long-term gem. The 22-year-old South African, who lit up the IPL as a replacement signing, has seamlessly carried his explosive form into England’s T20 Blast.

Donning yellow again, this time for Hampshire Hawks, Brevis announced himself to the domestic English audience with a blistering knock that showed why CSK fans are already dreaming of a golden decade ahead.

Dewald Brevis lights up the T20 Blast

Brevis introduced himself to Hampshire supporters in sensational fashion, blasting a 32-ball 68 on his Vitality T20 Blast debut against Essex. His fireworks helped the Hawks register their highest-ever T20 total at the Utilita Bowl—230—and crush Essex by a massive 106 runs.

Coming in after a 97-run opening stand between James Vince (62 off 31) and Toby Albert (54 off 34), Brevis took over the party. He launched six monstrous sixes, many into the leg-side stands, and brought up his fifty in just 21 deliveries. One of those sixes even came one-handed.

While the likes of Vince dealt in elegant fours, Brevis was sheer power and intent, clearing the ropes effortlessly and sending the crowd into a frenzy. His 80-run stand with Albert was crucial in propelling Hampshire to their massive total, which stands as the second-highest in the team’s history.
