During the toss, Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer thanked the Indian armed forces for the protection of the country’s borders amid tension with Pakistan.

He said, “Kudos for army forces who have worked for the country and have ensured that we are in a comfortable position,” he said during the toss after the election to bat first.

Michelle Owen, Marco Jansen and Azmatullah are three foreign players for PBK.

For Rajasthan Royals, a fully fit Sanju Samson attended the captain, in which Nitish Rana was replaced in XI. Kwena Maphaka came to Jofra Archer.
