Spain’s Miguel Angel Jimnez shot a 4-under-bed 66 on Saturday, with a tie with a leaderboard with Steven Alkar of New Zealand at the Kaulling Company Championship on Friday in Ohio’s Akron.

Jimnez received under 8 for the tournament, the third head of the PGA Tour Champions season, thanks to the three Burdies on the front nine, despite a bogie on Hole 12, and then the back-to-back waste on hole 10 and 11.

The 61 -year -old has done a season to remember with three championships, already matching a career for him on the Champions Tour.

Earlier this month, Jimnez reinforced the Principal Charity Classic after winning the Hoag Classic in March and the Trophy Hassan II in February.

In that spirit of success, he is not insisting on Sunday in the final stages.

“I’m going to a good restaurant, I am going to enjoy a nice bottle of alcohol, beautiful Big Fat Cigar and myself,” Jimanez said. “Then whatever happens, whatever happens, happens.”

Alker, who led a pair of other golfers in Firesstone on Friday, managed to be tied for the first time with his 3-under 67 despite the spanieng’s hard charge.

The 53 -year -old grabbed four Birds (Hole 2, 10, 12 and 17) a day, which to shoot all three days of the event to pair with a bogie on eighth to become the only golfer in the event.

Alkar is following his second senior Major Championship, and he accepted the difficulty in making equal to this course.

“Yes, I mean, another hard day around here,” Alkar said. “Boy, the course did not give us much with the wind, it was a little strong today, the course is drying out slightly. Again, pleased to come down and be bound to the lead. Just go out again, go out and fight again tomorrow.”

Michael Wright of New Zealand matched Jimanez and American John Haston (T22) with a low round at 4-in-end, tied him up to third place with 6 under, two strokes with Sweden’s Freddy Jacobson.

Fellow New Josender Richard Green is alone in the fifth (5 under) after its 3-under 67.

Meanwhile, Tim Petrovic, a day 2 co-leader who was one of the surprise of the tournament, fell into a tie in sixth position with his 1-over 71. He is tied at 4 under Denmark’s Soren Kejeldsen and Stewart Sink under 4, who shot 67 to both.

Another co-leader of day 2, Argentina’s Ricardo Gonzalaz, fell into a ninth place in 2 after his 3-over 73.
