Javagal Srinath announced the match officials for WTC final as an ICC announcement to the referee

The Indian team might not have reached the World Test Championship final, but former Pesar Javagal Srinath will ensure the presence of the country in the upcoming Marki Clash, which is serving as the fourth umpire with WTC Debutant Knightin Menon as its match referee. Richard Illingworth, England and Chris Gaffany of New Zealand will be an on-field umpire in the WTC final at Lord’s. Defending champion Australia will take finalist South Africa for the first time on 11–15 June at The Holiday Venue for mace.
Richard Catelboro, also from England, who has served in the finals of several marki ICC events, appointing men’s World Cup and Champions Trophy as a TV umpire, after playing the same role in the WTC 2021 finals between India and New Zealand.
After serving as a TV umpire for the ICC men’s T20 World Cup final in 2021, Menon is named as the fourth umpire for the competition.
Illingworth must have been making history in the final test, standing as an on-field umpire for the three WTC finals.
India reached the final of the first two WTC cycles, but both stumbled in the last barrier against New Zealand and Australia respectively.
ICC President J Shah appreciated the experience and merit of the officers appointed and expressed confidence in his performance.
Shah said in a release of the ICC, “We are pleased to announce an experienced team of match officials for the ICC World Test Championship Final at Lord’s, who mark the culmination of a high -competitive two -year cycle of Test matches played worldwide.”
“We try to select the most qualified and qualified officers for all matches, and we are confident that they will perform from the administrator. From the ICC, I wish them all the best and hope they enjoy this assignment.” Illingworth, which was also part of the team working in the 2021 and 2023 finals, continued their presence in Marki Test matches. He is also the current ICC umpire of the year, which has won the David Shepherd Trophy for the fourth time in 2024.
Ghaffni participated in last year’s ICC men’s T20 World Cup finals with Illingworth, and also worked in the WTC 2023 finals between India and Australia.
